Epic Health Services latest in M&A trends for 2015

M&A trends continue to shape the start of 2015. Epic Health Services, a pediatric nursing and therapy company based in Dallas, TX (not to be confused with Epic Systems, the EHR company), is set to acquire the New Jersey based Loving Care Agency, a clinical company focused on pediatric and adult home health care. The details of  the deal have been limited, so far, however, this deal will expand Epic’s service to 10 states.

Loving Care Agency, based in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J, serves about 1500 patients in 7 states; which will combine with Epic’s 6000 pediatric patients across their service area. Among states covered Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Missouri, Indiana, Delaware, Arizona, Illinois and Colorado.

The transaction between the two providers is expected to be completed in February of this year. The current Loving Care Agency adult division is expected to spin off into a separate operating entity at the culmination of the merger.
