HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor and Delivery RN (L&D RN) for a full-time night shift position in Monterey County, CA. This hospital-based role offers a supportive team environment, a tailored orientation program, and the chance to work with a high-volume patient population in a mission-driven setting. Located just 20 minutes from Monterey and the central coast, Salinas offers a lower cost of living than many surrounding regions, with easy access to beaches, hiking, and the cultural richness of California’s Central Coast. Relocation assistance of up to $10,000 is available for qualified out-of-area candidates.

L&D RN Responsibilities:
• Provide labor and delivery care on a night shift schedule from 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Manage a 1:2 patient ratio for normal acuity and 1:1 for high acuity cases
• Participate in C-sections and complex deliveries
• Collaborate closely with a 9-nurse team including a dedicated triage nurse and charge nurse
• Work on a self schedule model with schedule given 45 days in advance
• Attend daily 15-minute handoff briefings at the start of shift to ensure smooth care transitions
• Receive assignments directly from the charge nurse with time to review and ask questions
• Deliver care to a patient population that is predominantly low socioeconomic status and indigenous
• Utilize on-site translator services to ensure culturally competent communication
• Provide discharge teaching and clear communication to patients and families
• Document and communicate changes in patient condition and progress effectively
• Engage with continued learning and hospital-sponsored certifications

L&D RN Requirements:
• Active California RN license
• Minimum one year of experience in a high-acuity labor and delivery setting
• Experience working in hospital-based labor and delivery strongly preferred
• BSN or MSN highly desirable (additional compensation applies)
• Must demonstrate team-centered values and a commitment to patient dignity
• Ability to participate in C-section deliveries
Must be able to work a consistent night shift and .9 FTE schedule
• Pre-employment physical, background check, and fingerprinting required
• Must show original Social Security Card and valid California ID prior to start date

L&D RN Compensation:
• Hourly base range: $64.81 to $88.47
• Additional night shift differential: $3.00 (for 4 hours between 2:45 PM – 12:45 AM)
• Additional late night shift differential: $4.50 (for 4 hours between 10:45 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend differential: $1.25 per hour
• Degree pay: Additional $1.20 per hour for BSN, $2.40 per hour for MSN
• Compensation placement considers education, years of experience, and internal step schedule
• Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus for full-time hires
• Relocation assistance up to $10,000 based on the address listed on your resume, paid out in first paycheck
• Federal loan forgiveness eligibility (facility qualifies under HRSA guidelines)
