MRI Tech (Dual-Modality: MRI + X-ray) Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and advanced MRI scans and diagnostic x-rays per physician orders
  • Prepare and position patients with attention to safety, comfort, and image quality
  • Adjust MRI equipment and use shielding and protocols to ensure optimal images
  • Record patient data and imaging details using internal electronic systems
  • Assist with fluoroscopy and other special imaging procedures as needed
  • Maintain equipment, perform QC tasks, and report service or supply needs
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and departmental policies
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and clinical teams
  • Participate in CEUs, QA/QI processes, and hospital education initiatives


MRI Tech Requirements:

  • Active California Radiologic Technologist license (CDPH)
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (RT(R)) required
  • ARRT certification in MRI (RT(R)(MR)) strongly preferred; required for 8% bonus
  • Dual-modality experience strongly preferred: MRI + diagnostic X-ray in an acute care/hospital setting
  • 1+ year acute care experience preferred, including MRI and x-ray
  • Familiarity with CT, DEXA, and mammography is a plus
  • Must pass DOJ background check and pre-employment health screening
  • Must be able to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays


MRI Tech Compensation & Benefits:

  • $50.23 – $68.61/hr. | $8,708 – $11,893/month | $104,496 – $142,716/year (base)
  • $54.25 – $74.10/hr. $9,405 – $12,844/month | $112,860 – $154,128/year (with ARRT MRI certification)
