HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatrics at a respected acute care hospital on California’s beautiful Central Coast. CNS – NICU & Pediatrics Responsibilities

Provide advanced clinical consultation and nursing expertise across NICU and Pediatrics, with primary emphasis on the NICU.

Support both departments based on average daily census and clinical needs.

Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and educator for nursing staff.

Lead clinical education, staff development, training, and in-services.

Consult on complex patient care and participate in interdisciplinary rounds.

Develop and implement evidence-based clinical practices, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with nursing leadership to improve patient outcomes and clinical performance.

Report to the Director of Nursing Education, with a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services.
CNS – NICU & Pediatrics Requirements

Master’s degree in Nursing with CNS certification or eligibility.

Current California RN license or ability to obtain.

Minimum 2 years of NICU or pediatric clinical experience.

Strong clinical education, mentoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Ability to pass pre-employment physical and DOJ background check.
CNS – NICU & Pediatrics Schedule

Full-time, permanent position, 40 hours per week.
-
Monday–Friday, 8-hour daytime shifts.
-
No routine weekend or on-call requirements.

Additional coverage only under extreme circumstances.
