Director / Lead Mobile App Engineer (iOS & Android)

About the Role: We’re looking for a Director-level Lead Mobile App Engineer to own the architecture, development, and scaling of our iOS and Android mobile applications. You will provide technical leadership, build and mentor the mobile engineering team, and ensure our patient-facing and provider-facing apps meet the highest standards for performance, security, and HIPAA compliance.

About the Role: We’re looking for a Director-level Lead Mobile App Engineer to own the architecture, development, and scaling of our iOS and Android mobile applications. You will provide technical leadership, build and mentor the mobile engineering team, and ensure our patient-facing and provider-facing apps meet the highest standards for performance, security, and HIPAA compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end mobile development strategy for iOS and Android
- Define and maintain scalable, secure mobile architecture
- Oversee development of patient-facing and provider-facing mobile applications
- Ensure full compliance with HIPAA and healthcare data security standards
- Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing mobile engineering team
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams
- Establish development standards, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes
- Evaluate and implement new mobile technologies and frameworks
- 8–12+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on mobile
- Proven track record leading mobile teams and shipping production apps
- Deep expertise in:
- iOS development with Swift
- Android development with Kotlin
- Experience with cross-platform frameworks (React Native or Flutter) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
- Experience with secure data handling in regulated environments (HIPAA preferred)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and execution skills
- Experience in digital health, physical therapy, or remote patient monitoring
- Knowledge of BLE / wearable device integrations
- Experience scaling apps with real-time data or patient engagement features
