HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is currently hiring an Addiction-Certified Medical Director to join a mission-driven non-profit in Springfield, OR. This full-time, exempt role provides multi-site medical leadership as part of the Executive Team, with a lighter clinical caseload. The organization delivers evidence-based inpatient and outpatient treatment for adults—centered on dignity, compassion, and long-term recovery.

Medical Director Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oversight across detox, residential, and outpatient MAT programs

  • Lead and supervise LMPs, resident physicians, and nursing teams

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Team, contributing to organizational strategy

  • Collaborate with the Director of Medical Operations on quarterly goals and metrics

  • Participate in provider hiring, supervision, and credentialing processes

  • Support direct patient care through admission evaluations and level-of-care assessments

  • Chair the Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Credentialing Committees

  • Lead the Healthcare Professionals Program and coordinate with regulatory agencies

  • Deliver monthly education sessions and quarterly staff training

  • Oversee evidence-based treatment protocols for alcohol, opioids, benzos, cannabis, and other substances

  • Support medical student and psychiatry resident education initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with all licensure, certification, and CME requirements

Medical Director Requirements

  • Board Certification in Addiction Medicine (required)

  • Active Oregon Medical License (or eligibility to obtain)

  • 5+ years of clinical experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Addiction Medicine

  • Experience with detox and SUD treatment in inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Proven leadership experience within a healthcare or behavioral health environment

  • Strong interpersonal and strategic planning skills

  • Prior executive-level behavioral health leadership preferred

Medical Director Compensation

  • $150/hour (~$312,000 annualized)
