HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is seeking a Psychiatrist or Addiction-Certified Physician to serve as Medical Director for a respected non-profit organization in Springfield, Oregon. This full-time, exempt role provides multi-site medical leadership as part of the Executive Team, with a reduced clinical caseload. The organization delivers evidence-based inpatient and outpatient treatment for adults—centered on dignity, compassion, and long-term recovery.
Medical Director Responsibilities

Provide medical oversight across detox, residential, and outpatient MAT programs

Lead and supervise LMPs, resident physicians, and nursing teams

Serve on the Executive Team, contributing to strategic and operational planning

Collaborate with the Director of Medical Operations on quarterly goals and outcome metrics

Participate in provider hiring, supervision, and credentialing processes

Support direct patient care through admission evaluations and level-of-care determinations

Chair the Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Credentialing Committees

Lead the Healthcare Professionals Program and liaise with regulatory agencies

Deliver monthly medical education sessions and quarterly clinical training

Oversee evidence-based treatment protocols for alcohol, opioids, benzos, cannabis, and other substances

Support medical student and psychiatry resident education initiatives

Ensure compliance with all licensure, certification, and CME requirements
Medical Director Requirements

Board Certification in Addiction Medicine (ABPM) preferred; willingness to obtain certification required if not yet certified

Active Oregon Medical License or ability to obtain by January 1

Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Addiction Medicine

Experience with detox and SUD treatment in inpatient and outpatient settings

Demonstrated leadership experience within a behavioral health or healthcare environment

Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and strategic planning skills
