HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is seeking a Psychiatrist or Addiction-Certified Physician to serve as Medical Director for a respected non-profit organization in Springfield, Oregon. This full-time, exempt role provides multi-site medical leadership as part of the Executive Team, with a reduced clinical caseload. The organization delivers evidence-based inpatient and outpatient treatment for adults—centered on dignity, compassion, and long-term recovery.

Medical Director Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oversight across detox, residential, and outpatient MAT programs

  • Lead and supervise LMPs, resident physicians, and nursing teams

  • Serve on the Executive Team, contributing to strategic and operational planning

  • Collaborate with the Director of Medical Operations on quarterly goals and outcome metrics

  • Participate in provider hiring, supervision, and credentialing processes

  • Support direct patient care through admission evaluations and level-of-care determinations

  • Chair the Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Credentialing Committees

  • Lead the Healthcare Professionals Program and liaise with regulatory agencies

  • Deliver monthly medical education sessions and quarterly clinical training

  • Oversee evidence-based treatment protocols for alcohol, opioids, benzos, cannabis, and other substances

  • Support medical student and psychiatry resident education initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with all licensure, certification, and CME requirements

Medical Director Requirements

  • Board Certification in Addiction Medicine (ABPM) preferred; willingness to obtain certification required if not yet certified

  • Active Oregon Medical License or ability to obtain by January 1

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Addiction Medicine

  • Experience with detox and SUD treatment in inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a behavioral health or healthcare environment

  • Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and strategic planning skills

  • Ability to relocate to Springfield OR, 97477
