HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join a dedicated substance use treatment team at a nonprofit community mental health clinic in Hobbs, New Mexico. This full-time, on-site position provides direct substance abuse counseling, treatment planning, and care coordination for individuals struggling with alcohol and drug dependency.
Openings are available for professionals holding either LSAA (Associate Degree) or LADAC (Bachelor’s Degree) credentials. The ideal candidate will have experience working with outpatient or community-based clients and a passion for recovery-focused care.
Substance Abuse Counselor, LSAA or LADAC Responsibilities

Conduct client assessments and gather substance use histories

Design and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans

Provide group and individual counseling for clients with SUD

Coordinate care with internal providers and external partners

Maintain timely and compliant documentation

Participate in care team meetings and progress reviews
Substance Abuse Counselor, LSAA or LADAC Requirements

Associate’s degree with active LSAA, or Bachelor’s degree with LADAC

Experience in community-based or outpatient SUD treatment preferred

Must work on-site (remote work not available for this role)

Must pass CYFD and criminal background checks

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, not required

$20–$32/hour depending on credential level and experience
