Team Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

Team leads support, implement and enforce billing best practices, policies and procedures with a focus on increasing quality and productivity. They work closely with providers, practice managers, clients’ and PedsOne’s staff to implement best practice protocols. This individual is responsible for their team’s day to day revenue cycle operations including insurance and patient collections and denials management. A team lead builds strong relationships, guides, mentors, and holds team members accountable. They establish and monitor various metrics to track progress, inform accountability and identify areas of success and concern. They make sure

team members receive the support they need to succeed. As a leader in the organization, a team lead is representative of and supports operations and their team in a manner reflective of our mission and values. Learn and gain proficiency with billing system software. Oversight of the team’s daily operations, monitoring performance, and ensuring tasks are completed to meet goals. Maintains accountability, resolve challenges, and ensures clear communication within the team and with management. Their oversight ensures that work is completed on time, and goals are met. May participate in the recruiting process.

REPORTS TO: Director Of Billing

MANAGES: 8-12 Billing Assistants up to Senior Billing Specialists

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Excellent work quality and productivity.

Provide Leadership, Support and Accountability to Team Members(60%)

  • Coverage Planning: Plans staffing for all client and billing tasks, including during planned/unplanned absences. Plans may include coordinating with other team leads and recruiting
  • Contingency Planning: Develops backup plans for critical tasks or projects in the event of extended absences
  • Communicating: Informs leadership of any significant coverage disruption (planned/unplanned) including requested schedule changes. Communications to include detailed contingency plan, impact to key operations and relevant deadlines
  • Plans and supervises the daily operation of billing functions within team
  • Ensures the accuracy and timely submission and follow up of claims to all payers
  • Collaborates with the team to ensure A/R is handled efficiently and effectively
  • Train and mentor staff, utilizing PedsOne assigned tasks, competencies, missions & values
  • Oversees insurance and patient collections and assists in identifying and resolving issues, including delayed/denied payment and delinquent accounts
  • Accountable for team’s performance and all aspects of the revenue cycle for assigned
  • clients; including all aspects of performance from improvement plans to evaluations
  • Supports client satisfaction, serving as an escalation point for team members and clients
  • Assist the Director of Billing in overseeing projects and teams, while keeping them updated on progress.
  • Builds a cooperative work environment based on respect, trust and common goal of quality and excellence
  • Conducts themselves and promotes timely, professional, direct, respectful and effective communication with various audiences
  • Approving Requests: Reviewing and approving/denying time-off requests based on team coverage and workload
  • Performs other duties as required or directed
