HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is seeking a Business Development Consultant for an established and leading lactation organization. This newly created role focuses on expanding commercial payer relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving enterprise growth within the lactation services space. Previous experience and passion in the lactation services payer relationship space is required.
Consultant Responsibilities- Fully remote, USA
- Flexible schedule
- 3-month contract with extension potential
- Work independently with minimal oversight
- Build relationships with commercial insurance payers
- Negotiate in-network payer contracts
- Expand services within existing payer agreements
- Identify new payer partnership opportunities
- Develop employer benefit partnerships
- Secure placement within HR benefit offerings
- Identify enterprise growth channels
- Present expansion strategies to leadership
- Support payer compliance requirements
- Advise on regulatory risks and expansion strategy
- Strong knowledge of IBCLC credentialing and the distinction between board-certified lactation consultants vs licensed healthcare providers
- Minimum 2+ years in lactation services industry REQUIRED
- Direct lactation payer partnership experience REQUIRED
- Experience expanding commercial insurance relationships
- Experience negotiating healthcare payer contracts
- Understanding of lactation reimbursement models
- Knowledge of telehealth compliance requirements
- Strong independent self-starter mindset
- Ability to present strategy to executive leadership
- Understanding of board-certified vs licensed provider models
- Healthcare business development experience preferred
