We are seeking an experienced Lab Manager / General Laboratory Supervisor (GLS) to own day-to-day laboratory operations. This is a hands-on leadership role — you will run the floor, maintain instruments, drive method development and validation, and ensure CLIA/COLA compliance across all workflows. You will work alongside our MD lab director and report directly to ownership.
This is not a bench technician position. We need someone who takes ownership of the lab as if it were their own — because in practice, it will be.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage all day-to-day clinical toxicology laboratory operations — sample workflow, instrumentperformance, TAT, and quality
• Lead method development and validation for new analytes and matrices, including oral fluidtoxicology on Shimadzu LCMS-8050 and Sciex 5500
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize LC-MS/MS instrumentation — you own the instruments
• Ensure ongoing CLIA and COLA compliance — QC, proficiency testing, SOP maintenance,documentation
• Supervise and develop lab staff — lab assistant and accessioner
• Coordinate with MD lab director on workflow approvals, new test implementation, and inspectionreadiness
• Identify operational inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement
• Manage reagent and consumable inventory, vendor relationships, and instrument servicecontracts
• Report directly to lab ownership on operational KPIs, staffing, and expansion readiness
